Microsite supporting an ambitious fundraising drive for research into multiple sclerosis

The MS Society is a community of people living with multiple sclerosis, scientists, campaigners, volunteers and fundraisers. They have recently launched the StopMS campaign, which is aiming to raise £100m to fund significant breakthroughs that are on the horizon after decades of scientific advances. These fall into four areas of focus – progression, treatment, prevention and management.

We were commissioned to produce a microsite to support the new campaign and motivate individuals to make a donation or to become a ‘pioneer’, a high level donor who is rewarded with the opportunity to meet scientists, receive tours of research facilities and receive recognition on a roll-call of honour.


Our approach

stopms2We worked with the client to develop a format that took users on a clear journey of persuasion. Using a single, long scrolling page, the website informs the audience about the condition, clearly articulates the plan of action, focuses on the impact of multiple sclerosis for a particular family, outlines the benefits of becoming a pioneer and provides an opportunity to get involved.

A new sub-brand had been developed for the campaign and the website was its first digital application. Our design built upon its bold use of colour and employed some additional subtle interactive flourishes. We carefully considered the responsive behaviour to ensure its impact was not lost on mobile or tablet devices. We also integrated the donation form with the e-Activist payment system.
