We’re always interested in hearing from talented digital designers, developers and project managers.
Your approach to work is just as important as what you can do. We like to organise ourselves well, manage our clients’ expectations and produce work of the highest quality. Although we’re not actively recruiting at the moment, we do like to hear from talented freelancers so we don’t get caught short during busy periods. Drop us a line if you think you might like to work with us.
Experience with WordPress is a must, and solid experience with PHP is very helpful. You’ll probably have built a number of WordPress themes from scratch. We’re not necessarily looking for someone with a computer science degree – our Technical Director, Adrian Toll, taught himself over a decade – but you’ll be someone who knows how to take wireframes & design and turn it into elegant, well-commented code.
It’s also crucial that you have the ability to talk clearly to non-technical people, explain their options, and manage discussions with clients without constant input from a project manager.
Our workflow uses Grunt to manage SASS compilation, Autoprefixer, JS minification, image compression and filename hashing for CDNs, with minimal use of polyfills beyond Modernizr and Respond. Experience of some or all of those is helpful but we have an established WordPress starter theme with a Grunt workflow, which we’re happy to take you through if you’re the right person. If you have experience with LAMP hosting on Unix systems, so much the better.
